KZ earphones (amateur review) (images included, 30mb)

mine are the ZSN’s, i’ve only had them for a couple weeks and if was to describe them in one word, it would be ‘superb’, the folks at KZ have really outdone themselves by making such great earphones at affordable prices.

 1. Sound: at first i felt cheated. the reviewers on YT had me sold on these with their high praises. but when i first played some songs from them they sounded a bit too flat on the bass side, bass was almost non existent (i’m all about the bass), felt like a downgrade from my apple earpods and a huge downgrade from my Beats Ur, but i found that the bass starts coming to life when listening at higher volumes, but theres only one problem with that, these earphones can get really loud!.

they are not your conventional 20 to 20000Hz, these go up to 40000Hz, so if your sensitive to the high treble especially the ‘ssss’ (which i am) i wouldn’t recommend these earphones, the alternatives would be the ES4, cause according to reviewers the bass and mids are pretty much the same but the ZSN has much better highs as they are double that of the ES4. hii amature review naona inataka kua ndefu, lemme wrap it up.

long story short, you will definitely need an EQ to drive these earphones to their full potential, cause unlike the out of the box bass heavy Beats Ur the ZSN were designed to have minimal bass without using EQ, but ZSN + EQ especially Poweramp = eargasm. deep rumbling bass, kama home theatre bana, almost puts the Beats Ur to shame bass wise. upande wa clarity Beats Ur na Earpods ziliwachwa kitambo sana, the ZSN’s were designed to have excellent clarity upanda wa House and EDM they get you to heaven.

 1. Build: beautiful design fits well in my ears, however, if you have unusually small ears fit itakua shida. also, the cable is detachable, so zikispoil unabuy tu cable ingine, which probably wont happen cause the wires are pretty thick. 3 wires each as thick as your black and white audio cables and each encased in a transparent tube, awesome stuff. @Jimit

Mimi na bullets is a NO. They isolate the sound and direct it straight into your cochlea which will cause ear pain especially on loud volume over a long period of time. Be careful with them.

what other type do you use?

OP is proof that we all have some things we care a tad too much about unlike the general populace.
Anyway, I use AKG only because they came with the phone I use.

great review @Ultimate Gamer

What KZ model is this?
Also where do you regularly use them and describe their performance… looking to purchase the ZS10 Pro.

The Zsn. Used with poweramp on android and with a laptop.

Nice…Poweramp first ever app I purchased on Playstore…EQ on Rock then up the preamp kidogo, a little more bass & treble and am set.

Have you already bought the ZS10 Pro?. i read some reviews online claiming that the ZS10 variants are only slightly better than the ZSN variants so it doesn’t make much sense to fork out the extra doh for the ZS10 unless your’e an audiophile who wouldn’t mind spending more money for the slight audio improvement.
