Lake Magadi Road Trip on 29th June

Lake Magadi, Kenya’s most southerly Rift Valley lake, covers over 100 sq kms and has a distinctive pink and white colour formed by crystallized alkaline soda deposits. Located in a semi desert area, Magadi‘s temperature hovers in the upper 30s on most days and a series of hot springs around the lake’s periphery intermittently spray water from the ground at temperatures of 45ºC.
The bird life is very good, particularly at certain times of the year when up to 20,000 lesser flamingos arrive to line the shores. The vivid colours also provide some interesting photographic opportunities.

Kulala ni wapi? Options?

Madem wakifika 5 niambie pia mimi nijisajili

I last visited the place in 2004. Didn’t like the place coz it’s too hot and humid. The small Magadi town overlooking the lake is also hell boring.

hii barabara imeundwa?? last drive i did close to there was an absolute disaster.

@4makind hebu peana mawaidha hapa

imeundwa… but still rough… no potholes just crude tarmac perfect for a 4x4

@Kodiaga Madem ndio ulipenda. They will be many I tell you.
@1776 The tarmack is rough but has no portholes. Ile tu iko repaired mpaka una feel mitaro but still good.
@ChifuMbitika Choose the right company and you will enjoy. I will make sure I post the pics after the trip. Also in 2004 the place wasnt open for tourism. There were no lodges then i believe. Now we have a few activities going on in terms of tourism and its abit lively now
@Capitan Its a day trip no kulala options. Ukitaka tukuwache unaweza book overnight at lake Magadi tented camp ama Lake Magadi Sports Club
