Any Land Rover specialists out here? Nimeachiwa an old 110 which has had a fresh paint job but the engine and transmission are pretty much wrecked. Is it too costly to restore it?

The overland 4x4 guy is a very rude muindi i had a bad experience with him, hata kuangalia gari kujua what work it will need ataitisha 20k for inspection. They are just money hungry.
Another one to watch out for is Sajj auto, he will give you stories about components which are broken and need replacement but if you do your research you’ll find out that the component isn’t actually broken he just wants to sell a new one, again be careful.
Look for a police mechanic. they know every part offhead like they got the catalogue in their heads. But for a car like that I would suggest you pile up some money a little bit then look for an experienced person like @introvert to put in a huge naturally aspirated toyota engine and HVAC. The stock landrover engine doesnt have a big punch and may be a bother to maintain. The only trouble free landrover engines are the old petrol engines from series 2 and maybe 3, but they are too old kind of engines. In this kind of a car you want a high torque long stroke engine, but generally avoid turbo. You dont want to drive this thing over 160kph.
