In all major towns across Kenya landrover defender hutumika kama breakdown(recovery)…mbona?? Is too unreliable to run as an every day vehicle ama?

Zote…any defender in pickup form hata zile za tene with ‘inboard’ headlamps.

  1. Because they have a very powerful engine at low gear.
  2. Because they can be serviced indefinitely.
  3. Because hakuna any other better engine that can be adapted to tow.

Si ya everyday use because:

  1. Roads have been tarmacked well and there are better cars suited for tarmacked and are more efficient.
  2. It is not good with aerodynamics na takes time to pick up in speed.
  3. It is an obvious guzzler.
  4. Low resale value.

But for offroad, it is among the best, if not the best. Inatumika pia sanasana on safaris and tours.

Kuna matumizi mingi, i came to learn that the front ‘axle’ of a specific model can be useful in splitting timber, anyone with an idea how!

There’s a spline fed by power from the running engine and you hitch any equipment so it draws power from it.
Hata tinga tinga zingine ziko nayo.

Talking about the old series 109 landrover. it has

  1. four forward high range(speed) two wheel drive gears
  2. four forward high range(speed) four wheel drive gears
  3. four low range (slow towing) four wheel drive gearsgears
  4. Indestructible chassis.
  5. An everlasting aluminum body.
