In 2013 we did an interesting swap of engine and transmission of a Series 1.
The V6 engine, drive shafts and transmission had eaten a hole into someone's pocket so he sold it for a song.
We put in an engine and gearbox lifted off a Premio Nyoka.
Bado inaendelea tu.
Those cars were made when Rover was broke.
Build quality was such that during hard cornering there were reported cases of the body twisting, resulting in doors jamming shut or windscreens shattering.
Gwachana nayo.

I have not seen complaints about the latest version of the freelander. I know some old professor who has a red one and he allows his sons to drive it around, meaning it gets some little abuse. I think the version one ndio ilikua na umama serious
