Somebody here was asking how Paddock was able to shoot so many rounds with a rifle. He had customized the rifles with a ‘bump stock’ device that allows it to rapid fire. The Las Vegas shooter also had an arsenal of 17 weapons in his hotel room(s), mostly military-style rifles. At least one was modified with a “trigger crank”, which is illegal in most if not all states. Drug runners love them.

Out of interest from this incident ,i have found this.....

Police found an arsenal of 23 guns in the hotel room, some of which were fitted with scopes. Paddock also had two “bump-stocks”, devices legal in the US which effectively turn semi-automatic rifles into automatic machine guns.
When detectives searched Paddock’s home in Mesquite, Nevada – a retirement community 80 miles out of Nevada – they found a further 19 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and “electronic devices”, according to Count Clark Sheriff Joseph Lombardo. He would not expand on the latter.

It is very hard to believe Trump or any other politician when they express their condolences. Most, including Dems, have eaten NRA money.
Kassin, most people do not appreciate how difficult it is to amend the US Constitution. Besides to be an American is to own a gun, so to speak.

The Constitution contains within itself the process for changing it. The amendment process is described in Article 5. Amendments can be proposed in Congress when 2/3rd of both Houses agree. The states can play a role in proposing changes to the Constitution as well: 2/3rds of the state legislatures must call Conventions to propose amendments. Whether amendments are first proposed by the states or Congress, 3/4ths of the states must ratify (or approve) them before they become a part of the Constitution—the Supreme law of the land.

The Constitution, with its 27 amendments, has been amended only 17 times since the first 10—which make up the Bill of Rights—were ratified in 1791.”

Savage.
As expected, they are blaming everything except guns.
Mental illness, depression, Obama, loneliness, gambling, the left, democrats, Hillary etc.
I believe they used phrases like "not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorist are Muslim." So lets hope the NRA-sponsored politicians will now coin a new phrase like.. "Not all gun owners commit mass shootings, but all mass shootings are committed by gun owners."

That will not fly. Most shootings are committed with illegal or stolen weapons. In fact if you argued what you’ve suggested, you’d be giving the NRA ammunition (! ;))
