Lawyers in the House: Do they have a case?

So…word has it that these maafcukers called DiSThieves(u know what i mean) have gone to court to block the sale of Android TV Boxes and (yes, you heard right!!) prevent any form of online streaming of movies, games, sport and music.
Yes!!! Like their want it to be declared Illegal for you to watch your favourite song on You Yube. For the Team Nduthi like @kush yule mnono, they want to Exclusively handle that online content from Xhamster and beam it to you via Satellite before you and your Arimi’s get intimate.:mad::mad:. I Mean WTF?. Heck they even do not want you to download Kodi on your PC, Laptop or Phoneo_Oo_O

Are these guys for REAL!!! Are they freaking serious?

@Luther12, @muzombozi, @Jazzman, @Meria Mata et al. Do you think have a chance in hell or have they just realized that the Shickens came home to Roost a roong time ago?
Tusemezane.

Wameenda korti wapi?

Hapa Nairobi. Case was in 1st mention today but no injunction was given.

walienda koti lini? hawawezi shinda lakini hapa kenya with magistrates haveing a price huwezi jua

They have also resulted to threats & intimidation.

I wonder Telcos like safcom, air tel & orange have to say considering they make a killing from bundles when such movies are being downloaded.

hapa hakuna kesi ni compe roho safi they either adjust their prices or they pack and go monopolistic ventures ni ya kplc pekee
na ju ya hio story been thinking about getting an m8 android box nimefanya hesabu nkaona streaming for 744hrs (one month) will set me back by roughly 20gb of data n with orange unlimited of 3k p.m which fup starts at 30gb(citation needed) ntakua mbee comparing the 5k those thieves charge p.m n flood you with repeats i’ll get value for my money with this ka m8 au unaonaje @Electronics4u

come to think of it S.A. brands have never really hacked the Kenyan Market, from steers, Castle beer etc, they always end up packing and leaving, DSTV has survived due to the monopoly it has enjoyed for close to two decades; I think its time is up na miti imeanza kuteleza

Impossible to regulate online activities of the masses…especially in a corrupt and democratic country such as Kenya

DSTV is slowly becoming Kenya’s Comcast. I am not a lawyer, but this is not the first case of a cable company to move against streaming services. Netflix and Hulu have faced stiff oposition from the said quartera lakini they are prevailing na hata sasa kuna Amazon prime na zinginezo. Hapa Kenya si dhani wataweza labda waungane na all internet sevice providers waende pamoja something ambayo naona haitafanyika hivi karibuni.

Come to think of it: Streaming beats the Satellite pay TV 10 nil.

  1. With streaming I watch a movie/series at my convenient time.
  2. I watch any live game I want as long as they are streaming.
  3. I Can interact live with other spectators.
  4. I can stream xxx content.
  5. Even with bad weather there is no signal loss.
  6. There are several ways to get connected.
  7. I dont have to fix the decoder somewhere a top some roof.
  8. I can stream on the go (OTG)
  9. I pay for what i watch.
  10. Hakuna kukatwakatwa, kuteswateswa na kuongezwa bei ofyo ofyo(talking here like profesa bamba)

i have never understood why Multichoice price out the ordinary mwananchi under the guise of market segmentation. That’s corporate apartheid if you ask me. Yaani DSTV wanalipisha Supersport thao kumi halafu mtu akiamua ajisaidie kwingine bado wanacatch feelings ati hufai kuwatch ball kama sio through wao. What the heeoooo?? Mimi kwanza I support guys who offer DSTV mwitu huko mtaani. It is only through their valiant efforts that DSTV shall re-think their pricing practises.

There is no Kenyan court that can issue orders to censor internet content. That’s interfering with freedom of speech, expression and free enterprise.
