Learning Statistical software

Hey Ktalkers, There is a position (job openinh) that i am well qualified for, but i need to know either SPSS, STATA, SAS or R. can this be picked up quick? And for like how long can I learn one of them and which is best for social science research?

1. SAS or R are more prevalent (R since basic tools are shareware)
