You need a graphic software not a ‘logo design’ software. They are not made for one thing.
The best is Adobe Illustrator because it makes vector images (logo can be enlarged without getting pixelated).
But if the logo won’t be subjected to stretching and enlarging, Photoshop can work too.
illustrator, coreldraw, gimp, inkscape, vectr e.t.c i personally use coreldraw and gimp
For paid software Adobe illustrator is the best vector graphics software. when it comes to raster based graphics editing, photoshop wins hands down.
for open source software Inkscape is the best for vector graphics and gimp for raster graphics.
dont forget you need decent hardware to run these programs especially the windows based ones usiwe unatusumbua hapa advice na unatumia core duo
