Luwere.. Airtel Unliminet

Wahenga hawakukosa kunena mgema akisifiwa tembo ulitia maji. I have been a keen Airtel user since the advent of their unliminet offer in 2015… that was after moving from Orange since they squeezed the living daylights out of their monthly modem offer. now Airtel have also done the same to their unliminet bundles… from the get go… the speeds were awesome even after finishing the bundles one would still access sites and download at speeds of 32Kbps… then the myongo started… speeds dropped to tortoise speeds of 8kbps after reaching threshold… Well i just renewed my Airtel unliminet for the last time since its time to move on… the shiet heads at the pricing and marketing department have done a total revamp of their offer… that is not worth the tissue paper i wipe my azz with… Its been great but as they say all beginnings have have an end… RIP Airtel unliminet… We loved you but your greed lead to your demise…

Really? Nimenunua unliminet modem ya 250 na nikapewa 1Gb

Data ni Safaricom especially kama uko nje ya Nairobi.

Unliminet 250 now gives 350MB… 100 mins to all networks, 500sms & 100MB facebook, social media et al. and before it was 500MB, Unlimited social media, 500 sms, 100min talk time to all networks… they have clearly tweaked it for the worst…

The world over providers are getting rid of unlimited data… because if you give torrent users an MB they take a TB. Remember when Comcast (US company) began capping their unlimited offer at 300GB. Americans yelled their throats out and they had to increase it to 1TB… with more payment required.

Unlimited internet is dead. Long live capped internet.

Sasa hata 500 MB ina nyongwa… hii ndo vision 2030… why do telcos act like internet is an illegal drug kama cocaine… yaani ni kitu unajua iko lakini kuipata ni kama kutafuta osama…

There was a time I was reading about who controls the internet i.e. where do companies like Safcom buy bandwidth from. I learnt of tier 1, tier 2, etc providers. They make the real money. For companies like Safcom they buy bandwith… not data plans. If their entire bandwidth is consumed by always on torrents of torrent users seeding and leeching… you can see why they’d cry.

Their water is controlled at the dam so to speak. I am surprised they even offered unlimited internet in the first place.

Torrents are very slow on safcom nowadays…

Remember when safcom had unlimited @ Ksh 250

I had an altercation with them on twitter and that idiot jamo who tweets for them was unapologetic and almost arrogant when I asked why they changed the data bundles and pricing without informing subscribers.
He basically told me to take it or leave it.

Why do people torrent in this day and age? There are free cloud leeching sites which do that for you e.g zbigz.com, bitport.io, filestream.me etc. You just paste your magnet link and they do the downloading for you.

the only way to have unlimited internet is to start your own tier 1 network which will require some seroius capital

wow tumenyolewa … from 3GB to 2GB

In some areas upcountry, Safcom network is very poor.

good old days

mimi hununua safcom 3gb ya 1k ama 5gb ya 1.5k bt nadhani nitajipanga niweke zuku ya nyumba

watu wa BIS hawaongei?

Kwa masufferer wa Jah, Unliminet 20/= has been reduced from 20 MB to 10 MB, unlimited whatsapp/facebook/instagram has been capped at 100mb.

The plan though good, was not sustainable. Imajin all those videos kwa fb na forwards za whatsapp. Msee kama @Jirani anashinda hapo forwarding and downloading porn za 5 gb whatsapp na mbao. Nilikuwa naona tu mtu anawatch videos via facebook kwa mat/non wifi areas, was 99% sure that was unliminet anatumia. Stunts zingine huwezi jaribu na safaricom.
