Market for butter

Folks, am seeing a situation where 5 cows in the herd will give birth at around the same time and i need a way to add value to the milk. So, bunge hapa inasema tuunde butter for sale. Unfortunately, sijui where that “thing” is sold. Leteni maoni

Ethiopian and Indian restaurants use alot of butter in their meals. Labda uulizie uskie wanatoa zao wapi.

Have you considered Maziwa mala and yoghurt? All you need is a basic packaging machine and then make yoghurt and maziwa mala which have a wider market and have fewer hassles than products like cheese and butter.
If you do not believe me ebu fanya market assessment and check out the market size per product, payoff, investment required, shelf-life, duration…

you are right. But mala and yogurt kuna vile viko mob, plus economies of scale might not favour me here

Butter has a small market, hapo ndio guys with economies of scale will give you a proper beating. Try mala and yoghurt, the market for those two is bigger.

You could try making whipped cream for bakeries but you need to learn how to do it and some equipment, overall it has alot more potential.

Won’t he need Kebs Certification and a million other licenses?

How many liters of milk are you looking at?

With business growth he will have to comply but can initially source for direct markets like hotels. By the way how much is the KEBS certification per product?

I am not aware how much it costs. But the certification is important if you want the products in supermarkets.

Am looking at about 90 litres daily here. There about

This whipped cream is new to me. Forgive the village in me. I will look at it. Thanks a bunch folk

Come with something you unique. Yenye Kenyans have no idea of it. Cheese Kwanza I see kwa supermarket is very expensive. Hapo utakula na kijiko.

That’s a very substantial amount… with that you can do about 270/300ml tubs of yoghurt which when well cultured and flavoured with dried fruit can fetch you around 45 bob per tub which is still way above the selling price of raw milk

You require almost 5 liters of milk to make a kg of cheese and more than 20 liters to make a kg of butter

250g for cheese is almost 500
