It seems MasterCard is happy now that Huduma Namba results are being gathered and analysed. Those who registered feel misused and betrayed while those who abstained are laughing and feel vindicated.

Kenya will receive Sh30 billion from the Mastercard Foundation to help the youth access jobs and further their businesses as part of a joint strategy with the government aimed at benefitting at least five million people.
Speaking during the launch of the initiative dubbed ‘Young Africa Works’ in Nairobi on Thursday morning, President Uhuru Kenyatta thanked the Mastercard Foundation for its partnership with the State and local organisations to help Kenyan youth become “productive members of society”.
Also part of the Sh100 billion public-private joint initiative are the Equity Bank Group , KCB Group and their respective foundations which will provide billions in capital and business development services.
"Kenya has a vibrant entrepreneurial culture, a strong private sector, and an enabling policy environment… Young Africa Works in Kenya builds on this momentum to prepare and connect young people to opportunities that will grow the economy and transform their lives,” said Reeta Roy, President and CEO of the Mastercard Foundation.
President Kenyatta condemned the get-rich-quick mentality which he said has led to corruption on the country.
“As a country, we need to change our mindset and realise that one cannot get successful overnight,” he said.
The project is set to work in the country for the next five years.
The initiative entails providing loans to SMEs as well as enhancing the technical and vocational training through the Ministry of Education. It will also support training for fresh graduates through internships and apprenticeships.

JESUS CHRIST , we are being taken for fools …tha hell ?

Usa companies over promise but under deliver all the time. President Obama came here with goodies grabbed headlines and left. We actually spent more to host him on security costs than we got back. Up to date those promises remain headlines only. President Uhuru went to the white house last year. Promises made. Nothing has happened. Even the expressway they promised to fund was shifted to us to fund by loan. It was turned down. It has died a silent death.

A simple communist Party committee member of China come with zero fanfare. He will he lucky to get any press coverage. Many will think he is the Chinese envoy here. A few meetings we get 1 billion grant, 1 billion worth of free machineries, scholarships and he leaves us with projects worth 5-10 billion to be coordinated by the Embassy here as they send reports back home. 3-6 months later the projects are launched. Most people wouldn’t even know he was here.

:D:D it’s money in the pockets of the well connected.
Initially I had supported the exercise hoping it would get rid of all the fake identity cards and documents that people use to commit crimes of fraud because they (Kibicho I think it was) had said everybody will bring their birth certificate and every government document they were in possession of when getting registered.
Mwishowe they were asking for ID alone. Bure kabisa!

Permanent Secretary Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government of Kenya, Karanja Kibicho, said that among the documents that will be used for registration includes birth certificate, driving licence, ID and even passport.
Those with NHIF, NSSF and KRA cards will also have the information included in the same Huduma Namba.
Karanja said these documents will be consolidated to generate a specific Huduma Namba that will be used as a single source of truth about a person.

Historically, the west have greatly misused us and they are still doing so up to now. But the chinese are the worst and will exploit and squeeze out every bit of blood then leave us with nothing but loans based on onerous contract that favour only them and thousands of chinese immigrants only good for casual labor. Atleast the west have some saving grace like grants and aid.

Uhuru was correct. The greatest asset he has to use and misuse is ‘our youth’

Am telling you this 30B is the fee to Kenyatta family Mastercard is paying for Huduma namba

China doesn’t have enough money for its own citizens na unadanganya ati wanatupea pesa bure?

Fun facts about China. In the last 30 years they have uplifted 600 million people from poverty. In the last 10 years they registered every poor person biometric in the country in a poverty reduction program. In that 10 years they uplifted 60 million people out of poverty. President Xi has increased funding to that program, some $10 billion to make sure all poor person gets an sustainable income generation activity in the country. So far the last 40 million people are a priority of the government. That program is being tracked by economist in the world due to its success and is being documented so that other countries can do the same. A team from the west have done a study and made a documentary of the same. The amount China invest on BRI is equivalent to the amount it spends locally to the poor in its own country. $100 billion. That’s why President Xi is extraordinary popular in China

'Youth '…

following on this ,i believe the loan must be with a very low interest.

Colour me stupid but what exactly is the gripe with this?
We all agree on the issue of youth unemployment , part of the solution involves equipping them with skills and resources to engage in gainful employment activities, now, someone wants to provide 30b to help tackle that but you would rather trade in conspiracy theories rather than seek to find out how you or someone you know can benefit from such an amount, and you wonder why this country is still a shit hole?
What I think is we have a really ferked up case of reverse Stockholm syndrome where a cabal of internet activists get their kick from pointing out social I’ll. Anything this threatens that has to be attacked, otherwise, what will they complain about if the youth become gainfully employed.
