Matatu Investors Saidieni Hapa

I am thinking of getting into the matatu industry in future. Can I make 100k net profit (after all expenses) with a brand new PETROL box for long distance travel in a good sacco?

yup its quite possible making that profit every year. Go for it

I meant 100k per month…on average with a brand new petrol box…juu sitaki any major mechanical issues for the first two years.

anyway…there is a thread that discussed this sometime ago…go look for it

think of other ways you can use that 3m you will use to get the box kwa sacco and which can make you more than 100k per month.

Biashara ya matatu ina wenyewe, good luck though.

Box ya petrol ukibuy cash and import for yourself is 1.5-1.7 million boss.

Ber open minded and do your research
Not everyone fairs on well in that kinda business
It takes alotta guts and…
Break a leg…

I have done my research. I dont have an 8-5 job which means that I am always available when needed. I am highly mobile and can monitor it closely.

Very competitive business you need to have balls of steel

I am thinking of getting in with a brand new imported vehicle nisisumbuke sana garage for at least two years. I guess with a brand new vehicle competition sio serious vile for a year or two right??The only issue I see will be getting a good crew that I can work with.

Kuna neiba wangu in the 90s who had a matatu. One day the crew walimletea 5 Bob ati that was the day’s net profit. Aliwachana na iyo biz.

Alikuwa mtu wa ofisi? 8-5??

Dereva na makanga wakiskia mwenyewe anafanya kazi ya ofisi wanajuanga hiyo ni holiday…juu huwezi toka ofisi vile unataka, and that is the catch…you must be available for every little problem. A hands on approach. I believe most people fail in this business due to the following reasons (according to my research):

  • They are unavailable. Hii biashara sio ya mtu ana job ya 8-5 juu you can be summoned at a moment’s notice.
  • They begin with second hand vehicles. This is a major isssue juu mtasumbuana na polisi sana…and they mostly buy “mikebe” from the veterans who have seen that the spares are exceeding income and are disposing.
  • Personality. You have to be a no-nonsense guy. If people cannot perform, you fire them ASAP. Never assume you are dealing with adults, everyone has a mouth to feed at home.

Yes. But hii biz lazima ujue makarao. Ata kimutai leo statehouse alikuwa anadai hii biz ina hasara

Thats very comforting especially with the Cartels in these Nairobi routes.
I only have a problem with the money, Walaji ni wengi sana but its really rewarding especially ukimanage vipoa and get a good crew

:D:D:D:D
Hiyo ni recpe ya stroke

New players kwa hii biz always face opposition from the old players since you will decrease their revenue… tafuta Sacco mzuri but you will be required to contribute a considerable amount of cash before they allow you in
