Please buy the original filter or at least go for reputable brands Meyle ,Blueprint or JS .I bought a filter early Feb and the fuel consumption changed from the usual 16 - 17 KM/l to 13KM/l .Ilibidi ni buy Meyle . Back to filters, the element is supposed to trap dirt but at the same time allow specific litres of air per minute otherwise it will be too restrictive and engine will not perform optimally. Limiting the airflow will mess you fuel consumption since combustion uses a defined air to fuel ratio.
If a filter allows dirt to pass you end the first casualties being the MAF sensor being dirt inturn giving the ECU innacurate information and a sticking butterfly valve.
hapo sawa, I have been wrong then, mimi huona those filters are designed the same way, so my opinion has always been just to get the cheap ones and change them frequently, I always check the reverse side to see if the filter is working well, and they all seem clean on the reverse side, thus my opinion that in dusty environments you are better of changing the filter frequently than buying an expensive one and having it go longer.
Sawa. The other part that is mostly ignored ni oil filter .Hata hiyo chukua original or reputable brand unless you are saving money for a patient ako ICU.
Good Oil filter is supposed to stop oil from flowing back to the sump when you switch off the engine .So that the next time you crank the engine oil will flow to all the parts as required in the shortest time possible.
