ION, I was driving from Nbi to Sagana with DH nakwambia the miraa proboxes that were overspeeding and overtaking recklessly…wah! Sijawahi ogopa hivyo. I was screaming on the road fearing we were about to crash head-on at any time. All miraa probox drivers are mad men with no regard for life. Sickos! Why can’t there be a law that bans transport of miraa in proboxes and we have trucks instead??

Several ‘reasons’: firstly, one of the effects of miraa consumption (the drivers often consume it) is disinhibition. Secondly, it’s often a race to get to the market. Wa kwanza kufika sokoni will sell all his produce, ukichelewa ole wako.

There was a time they were using land cruisers…you do not want to be on the road…before that Hilux now those were the top of the idiots food chain

They’re still there. Check from around midnight. Used mainly on Garissa/ Wajir/ Mandera routes.
