Misplaced Priorities. Poor Planning Is What Africans Are Good At.

Uhuru na Chang’aa zake anakopa Billioni 300 aunde reli ya SGR badala ya kupanua ile Meter Gauge at a fraction of the cost.

In the whole of Africa there are alot of these types of misplaced priorities trying to catch up with Western nations through giant leaps.

Do the following

  1. Install piped water in the rural areas
2 .Build Classrooms in ALL public schools to hold 40 pupils per class
  2. Drill more geothermal wells in Naivasha
  3. Build specialized hospitals 1 in each county. e.g 1 Cancer center in Machakos, 1 Trauma center in Kisii, 1 Transplant Hospital in Kisumu etc

Why do you value a house more than the subaru? To some, mobility is more important that a house

A house sits on LAND which in turn appreciates with time. A car depreciates the moment you leave the showroom.
500K piece of land will next year be worth 550K or more, a 500K Subaru will next year be worth 250K or less. Tafakari hayo

For how long are you in this world? The best thing in this world is to respect people choices on how they want to live their life. Besides, you never know the chronology of their plans. It could be a car first, then a house. Or they could be looking for a place to put up a permanent house away from where their semi-permanent house is.

What is the problem if my car depreciates while I am using it to take children to school, commute to work etc.

:meffi::meffi::meffi: Exactly my point: Misplaced Priorities. Just like a hungry man with 100 bob in his pocket opting to buy candy instead of food.

opinions opinions. opinions……… whats important to you aint to someone else and that’s just how it isssssssss. tupeleke ujuaji wetu huko ulaya. no one truly cares as they will do what they want with their money. depreciation, time value or not.

Why do you say they are misplaced priorities? Life perspectives differ. You must appreciate this

Where I currently live a car ranks top on the list of priorities. There’s no public transportation and without it, you are stuck.
You have to have a car to find or reach a job. You can then line up your other priorities by personal preference.

Conclusion: Your environment determines your priorities. That still does not take away from the fact that most of our people don’t plan.
The key statement is-- Everyone Plans…those who don’t plan are actually planning to fail.

I have always reminisced about monies pored into elephant projects

I’m not talking about where you are which is of course not in Africa. In the US a personal car is more important than a plot of land. My argument is about Africa and specifically Kenya

If you can’t plan to state your audience in your topic then you’re just another one of those planning to fail. :stuck_out_tongue:

He mentioned the audience the moment he talked about Uhuru and other Africans

Sina gari and I’m not ashamed @Kimakia gives me free rides from work every evening, and no it’s not what you guys are thinking

Me too, I don’t own a vehicle and I live in my own house on my own land. Gari ni badaye.

A basic car gives you mobility and can help you achieve more… The problem comes in when you go for luxury cars when you do not have a house and other investments… I started with a car looong before I built my house and cannot regret whatsoever… And now I have cars and buildings and plots and now I want some more luxury kiasi with a car (V8 or Prado) then forget about the cars and invest even more especially when these Juibilidiots get out of the scene!!!

hapo kwa government I can agree, I think its ridiculous to build such an expensive rail line and yet majority of the citizen dont have piped water, don’t have paved roads, kids dont have adequate educational facilities, security ni shida and healthcare is a mess - those are the basics every government should look at accomplishing first before getting into the other shinny gizmos.

on the individual, hapo depends, I would only be worried if a guy buys a car and yet the kids dont have the basics, quality education, healthcare and a decent house/living conditions like (boys bedroom yao, girls bedroom yao)

These low IQ black africans in the comment wont be able to understand what you are trying to say.

allow us to think what we are thinking
