What are the signs of a failing water pump? I have slight leakage ya coolant…after a drive and the car is parked, a small puddle of coolant is formed below the engine neccesitating daily top up of about 250 ml coolant after doing about 50kms per day town use. Mechanical tells me I can run a while unless the leakage is substantial or if temp gauge goes above normal. Please recommend where I can get quality parts?

Why don’t you just seal the leakage

Hehe…seen that being used. Nawe ukifika garage ile kazi huwa hapo ni mob.

Hiyo water pump huwa na gasket yake. It could be something as simple as replacing this, rather than the whole pump. The pump also has buffles (look like small wings) that push the coolant around. In some cases they rust and break.

which mitaubishi is this? If its a lancer kimbia pale kirinyaga road kuna duka inaitwa kruma utapata a genuine one from japan at 4,500. Ama check duka inaitwa cosmos, hawa wako na both japan and taiwan where taiwan goes for 2500 na japan for 5k. Once the water pump starts leaking u just have to replace it, hakunaga remedy.

Generally, water pumps are sealed and equipped with a ka-hole that leaks waterbcoolant when the seals inside are broken. Time to replace, na shida is that if you go to Kirinyaga and get a used one, nobody guarantees that it’s OK.
