So, I fixed Monroe shock absorbers in my little car and the car became super stiff… I feel every little bump and pothole - those that the rest of you don’t know exist. The guys at the Oriel shop said they will be better with time - they have become worse.
Tufanye nini? Can’t throw away or replace the shocks again so soon - the pockets will cry. Some people have mentioned replacing the coil springs to balance out the shocks. Will that work? Do you know someone who can help within Nairobi?
Did you replace shocks and springs or just shocks.
From my experiences, its always adviseable to replace both at the same time.
Mechanics clarify please…
The manufacturer knew what he was doing. hauwezi piga hesabu kumliko. get the manufacturers shock absorber which might be more or less the price of that monroe. might be more expensive though. hizo vitu ni za kuruka mawe ya rhino charge.
If its a small car, you do not need monroe shocks and springs all round for that will make the car stiff. You can have them only at the back then mbele go for another make. And shocks and springs go hand in hand
The problem is you’ve fixed heavy duty shocks on a more so town runner. Just load the car with a few 90kg sacks and drive around rigorously for a fortnight or so, you’ll either have a desired effect or break them; either way you still get your money’s worth if not money back guarantee.
Bro, you bought the wrong shocks. I remember a guy who put the wrong shocks on his car once. They were Land Rover shocks on a Morris Marina which he had restored and couldnt find the right shocks. That car was super stiff and after some time, the area where the shocks were mounted to the body begun showing cracks. If you keep them, you may face the same down the road and this will be a very expensive repair.
