How about the fact that Honda designed a cylinder head (CVCC heads) for use in its American version of the Civic hatchback, a design so delightfully simple and so fiendishly clever that the fuel economy figures achieved from a carburetor-fed engine from the 1970s are still unbeaten even by today’s cleverest EFI systems?
…copied that from barazas review…Please someone enlighten us on the fuel economy
This Honda Civics, tops the list of the most stolen cars in the US, and if you are in California, the car better be sleeping in you bedroom, or u relocate your bedroom to the garage.
The high fuel economy in this cars, is a nightmare to the insurance company, once they get stolen.
Unless I check, this is 1991 edition. The other reason that makes them vulnerable to been stolen, is due to the fact that thay are used in illegal/underground racing.
There’s a program that comes on Discovery Turbo whose name I’m forgetting. This British guy goes out there and buys old cars, brings them to his garage where he strips and modifies and/or repairs whatever is broken or worn out then sells them at a profit.
Watched an episode some time last month featuring this model of Honda Civic with the famous CVCC heads. Some figures were bandied around which I’m sure a casual google search will give you. I find it a good programme to learn some basic mechanics. They give very detailed explanations as they refurbish the cars.
