Motorcycle owners/riders on Nairobi

To the people who own and ride their own motorcycles in Nairobi, what advice can you give a new rider looking to join your ranks?
i.e what to expect when riding on the road, things to look out for, and just general things you’ve observed in general over the years while riding.

Dress for the slide, not for the ride.

invest in quality riding gears .Purchase them hapo; www.bikersgaragekenya.com
Secondly be a defensive rider.practise safe overtaking ,braking and speeding .let not the thrill of speeding get to your mind.
Lastly be careful around matatus and truck drivers.
Happy biking

what kind of bike do you have? depending on which one you have, other drivers will give you respect on the road!

Be careful around other Bodaboda riders. Those guys are murder

Isikuwe ni boda unaita motorcycle

  1. Good gear
  2. Respectable bike (with sufficient power to overtake if need be)
  3. Defensive driving
  4. Don’t carry FAT ghels

Vyenye hajibu maswali hapa hio lazima iwe ni motorcycle

Kama ni boda boda. Develop a third eye for kanjos

…and carry a matchbox for burning people’s cars:mad:

:D:D:D

I’m looking to get one, don’t have one yet. I’m considering one of the Benelli bikes, 150cc or 250cc.

Ingekua bodaboda nigeiita boda, I’m talking about a decent, private motorcycle for personal use.

Good gear is a must, sufficient power is what exactly, 150cc onwards? I agree with defensive riding, I’m already a pro in cars, I’d need to adapt for bikes though.
Fat ghels watachukua uber tupatane destination for sure

I’m planning to punch the side mirrors of any idiots I encounter. Kuchoma ni a bit excessive

Kusema ukweli try 250cc-300cc. 150cc is under powered plus if you plan on selling in the future a 250 is more feasible. BTW nimesahau don’t drink on a bike si kama gari ni ngori kabisa na utadunda for sure, happened to me several times.

Mwili yako ndio body ya bike… ujue kufa ni haraka sana

Ntaona kama budget itafika ya 250cc minimum.
Na drinking and riding just sounds terrible, ulikua unafanya nini pia wewe

If you’re serious, I know someone selling a Honda XR250 at 200k.

Also, state your budget if you’re serious as there are updates on bikes available every now and then. Most of the sellers are immediate owners looking to upgrade cc or change brands.

Not interested in that Honda unfortunately.
Na nikona bike in mind already, don’t want to buy used.
