Is the engine cranking? as in when you turn the key does the engine rotate? if not…you are probably looking at an engine knock…probably when the sump was hit the oil pump was affected considering oil pump ya 1nz-fe huwa hapo chini bt on the side near the crankshaft pulley…actually its embended in the timing cover. If it was affected then there was no oil circulation nd the reason why the engine stalled. bt if the engine is turning then probably the mechanic’s advice is the next obvious thing…

The engine is cranking. Also as it cranks the fuel pump is also okay. I suggested we do a computer check and see any errors before we dismantle anything. What could be another problem?

Once it was hit ilimwaga oil yote but was off don’t think anyone started it after that.all other components are in order unless something internally imeharibika.

Kama haikua started after kumwaga oil then there isn’t an oil circulation problem or damage to the engine. You can check if the crankshaft position sensor was hit juu pia hukua just hapo chini ya crankshaft pulley. If that sensor goes bad hata ufanye nini the car can never start. Story na ecu is highly unlikely juu the ecu doesnt easily fail catastrophically unless there is a short. Hata hivyo u can easily look for mtu wa wiring to check it especially its main fuse on the fuse box. If all the above is okay na umesema pump inaleta mafuta na pia coil inatupa moto kwa spark plugs then the other logical issue ni timing nd probably ur mechanic is right. Also by the way setting timing ya 1nz is not such a big task, ni kufungua tu top cover na timing cover, if the mech is good he can finish the job in btn 30mins to one hour…
