A proposed gambling law currently tabled in Parliament seeks to restrict the use of telecom platforms such as mobile phones for betting by administering heavy fines on gamers.
Anyone nabbed using their mobile phones to place a bet on an online gaming platforms will attract a fine of up to Sh 2 million or a maximum jail term of two years. The penalty will shoot to Sh50 million if the culprit is a company.

Its very simple, the balck market will grow. Most betting companies will exit the Kenyan market and move to other countries. Gamblers nao wa amue kuwafuta hata kama ni wakitumia VPN and the govt will loose big time on revenue. Corporate tax, excise tax, PAYE etc.
