Murang'a Nigwathuka: Murang’a woman lynched after killing boyfriend over Ksh.200 debt

A 19-year-old woman was Thursday (November 9, 2017) killed by an angry mob after she stabbed her boyfriend to death in Kangema, Murang’a County.

Salome Wambui is said to have attacked her boyfriend, Kennedy Murimi, 23, following a disagreement over a mobile phone.

Murimi had reportedly sold Wambui a phone but she was yet to settle the full amount.

Murimi demanded for the remaining balance of Ksh. 200 and when Wambui became reluctant to pay the debt, he forcefully took away the phone last evening.

On Thursday morning an argument that flared out into a physical confrontation ensued when Wambui demanded to be given back the phone, but the boyfriend declined.

She reached out for a knife and stabbed him to death after which an angry mob descended on before she could flee.

Kangema OCPD Cosmos Wachang’oka confirmed the incident saying Wambui was lynched on a farm in Wairi Village.
