Muthama vs Kalonzo

The fallout between National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has taken an ugly turn with the latter threatening to spill “devastating” beans on the former vice president.

In the biggest pointer to the backroom intrigues surrounding the fallout, Muthama told Sunday Standard that he was dead-set on unraveling “very damaging issues” around his former buddy “at an appropriate time”. This comes only days after Muthama announced that he had quit the Wiper party and would be contesting the Senate seat as an independent candidate.

Based on the nature of the fallout and the undertones it has sparked, there is a feeling within political circles that the acrimony between the pair stretches beyond the party primaries debacles in Kitui, Makueni and Machakos.

Muthama did not affirm this theory nor deny it. Instead, he confirmed that there were “more things” he wanted to say about Kalonzo.

“I do not rush into things and you know that. I take my time, but when I do, I do not hold back. What I have and what I am promising to reveal is shocking… shocking information that will shake the whole country,” he said.

Covert quest

Asked whether the information revolves around the intrigues of the negotiations leading to Kalonzo agreeing to become a running mate of ODM leader Raila Odinga and parallel covert quest by Jubilee to sway him to their side, Muthama retorted: “That is coming from you.

For me, I have a story to tell Kenyans and I will do so at the opportune time. For now, I have a nation, a community, a name and credibility to protect. When that time comes and I open my mouth, the whole country will be shaken,” he said.

And in a pointer that the differences have been long running, Muthama said he had waited for many years to speak about the true character of Kalonzo. The senator said he would oppose the nomination of Kalonzo’s son Kennedy to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) because it was an unfair. “We cannot nominate the father as the Deputy President and proceed to nominate the son as an MP.
But Muthama would not budge when we spoke to him on his resolve to spoil for Kalonzo. “Verily, nobody will catch sleep in Kenya once I tell all this,” he said as he signed off the interview.

The two come a long way from the days when Kalonzo was a national Kanu official while Muthama was Machakos branch official.

Those who know them also say their differences stretch from politics to commerce. Muthama is said to have never forgiven Kalonzo over the circumstances under which he acquired Athiani FM, a vernacular radio station, long after he (Muthama) processed its licensing and did the bulk of its founding work.

My strongest impression of Muthama is that of an opportunistic coward who shouts loudest when inside his territory, but makes a swift exit if there are prospects of a fight.

His response to Mdzomba’s fimbo is a perfect example of those characteristics.

Ka-Wiper is no better.

Muthama is the human version of Click-bait.
"You Wont Believe What Kalonzo Did: It Will Shock You!"

He will loose his seat and will be in opposition, without a seat. Heri weta atakuwa senator and in opposition

“We cannot nominate the father as the Deputy President and proceed to nominate the son as an MP. hapa nakubaliana na ww muthama!

Here’s a complete lowdown of what’s cutting between these two… One feels yeye ndiye ameinvest in the party and feels yeye ndo kusema while the other one wanna remind errbady that he’s the regional kingpin and he has the final say. But the regional kingpin is a spineless watermelon who is unable to make tough and firm decisions and that’s why he can’t also tame his own backyard. What makes you think he can manage a whole country?

PS: It would be EXTREMELY TRAGIC if Mayakos people kicked out Mutua, despite his track record, simply coz he isn’t aligned to the regional tribal outfit. Tragic indeed :(:(:frowning:

The opposition civil war continues at pace.

He said he is not defending his seat.

Ata Onyango Oloo alikuwa na dossier ya kuwin elections, so far sijaiskia. Ata ya Muthama ni hot air.

Mutua has not track record! Mutua is one of the most corrupt governors! You’re just one of those guileless Kenyans who’ve bought into empty hype na sinema za Mutua. If you were living in Machakos, huko mashinani. you’d be singing a different tune.

Muthama is simply trying to bolster his bargaining power in the next government.

Watafunane kabisa after 5 years of hurling abuse at Jubilee non-stop.

Muthama should drop his bomb, adding more dry wood to the fire. Fires of frustration.

He started very well but he has been COCKBLOCKED by Wiper operatives so as to thwart all his initiatives and ‘contain’ him. Even the Deputy Governor has been used as a mole in these efforts to curtail him.

it’s the sadness of our “democracy”…you are saddled with a mole who is working with your detractors to undermine all your efforts.
In some county governments that seemed to be working the governor took the political/face of the county government role while the deputy took the admin/executive responsibilities while in others they started fighting from day one.

The mole was then rigged out twice!!:D:D:D

Coz the mole was a Muthama project but Babyface wanted Wavinya Ndeti… It’s one of the reasons why the beef has escalated

well, when you agree to be someone’s tissue…in many of my consultancy meetings i have heard people dismissed as “huyo hawezi” during critical moments…and when their usefulness is over…

Even Kabogo had to be CONTAINED. He was beginning to outshine and outmuscle the Kiambu establishment both politically and economically, that’s why the Mt. Kenya Mafia had to strongly and forcefully swoop in during the nominashens. It was felt that he was creating an ALTERNATIVE centre of power in Central and he was not pandering to the big boys at all (all except Kamwana, mistakenly), even stopping taking instructions from them.

Who’s peddling these rumours?

Kabogo was thrown out because he was an arrogant s.o.b,anything more/less to this is just porojo ya idlers hapo mtaani

A successful propaganda campaign was run against him on the ground by the cartel followed by an elaborate rigging scheme last month. It’s the same cartel that pulled Wakahare from Nairobi, pampered his ‘academic papers’ and deliberately planned his Kiambu takeover.
