Now lets see the stores at their backroom

phew! nothing as sad as seeing 3 jars of jam stretched across a whole isle

Their biggest problem right now are

  1. Paying rent.
  2. Servicing debt.
  3. Losing their most profitable branches I.e Junction & TRM
  4. Operating expenses.

To do all that they need stock.

The most important need is ‘the customers’

waingize camera huko ndani ya shelf tuone…labda ni line mbili za mbele wamepanga

oh oh! osungu! i think its “aisle”

you exaggerate …it is actually one

If the crooked managers are still running the show, expect no changes.

Guess not!

By the way the junction was restocked, inaendelea aje

Spear, I know ya’ll rooting for Nakumatt to bounce back, but this deal with Tuskys is a band aid solution. The way I see it, they’re still sweeping things under the rug. Nakumatt has been badly exposed by the current crisis, I don’t think things are ever going to be the same. For the company to have any chance at a comeback, they must overhaul the entire organization. Merely restocking the shelves and posting PR pics won’t cut it, I’m afraid. They must also address all the issues that led them to this point. Such issues include:
-Massive fraud by employees, allegedly with knowledge of and complicity by top management, leading to death threats against, and in at least one case, murder of people who sought to expose the fraud.
-Allegations that the company is used as a front for money laundering.
-Mistreatment of suppliers, allegations of nepotism and/or favoritism towards suppliers of Asian origin. This ties in with the Blue Label fiasco, where Nakumatt sought to undercut its own suppliers by selling “in-house” products. Isn’t that greed?
-Refusal by management to sell a stake in the company to a foreign investor who’d have most definitely injected billions in cash. They preferred to watch stores in prime locations getting shut down rather than accept outside investment. What were they afraid of? Were they scared that a potential investor would conduct due diligence and uncover all the shit they’ve been shoving under the carpet?
Our silly so-called journalists, instead of asking such tough questions, are joining the “small mwananchi” in commiserating with Nakumatt. If Nakumatt is dirty then it deserves to collapse. There are many other supermarket chains that can do a better job.

That is restocking with metres of the same product. Tuskys watajua hawajui if it thinks that it can bear Nakumatt’s overheads.

In my hood, consumers are now spoilt for choice: Two Foodplus within 700 mtres, Carrefour, Quickmart, Cleanshelf, Tuskys and numerous mom 'n pop outfits.

Seems we are from the same hood, I prefer quickmart.

That last point is the most important one. Hold on to that one and don’t let go.

Ruaka?
