HIGH SCHOOL’ CROWD RUINED WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT JAMESON CONCERT

From the skimpy dresses to the alcohol effect on the youthful crowd which gave the security on duty a hard time, this year’s Jameson concert was more like a high school outing.

Perhaps it is because the event mainly attracted teenagers who opted to hang out together instead of connecting with the artistes on stage.

Surprisingly, a good number of them confessed that they had no idea who American singer Ty Dolla $ign, who headlined this year’s event, was.

The excitement of being out of school and getting a chance to attend an iconic event was palpable from their wild screams.

Then there were the small fights that kept breaking out among inebriated young boys and girls who perhaps were just letting off steam after being ‘locked’ up in school for three months.

The area was filled up with ‘kids’ right from the entrance, to the food joints and to the bar area as the young generation kept itself busy living life. Most could be seen coughing every single coin for that drink.

And just like in high school, they tagged each other along while heading to the washrooms as they held hands, moving swiftly, running through crowds, screaming aimlessly.

DRINKING CHALLENGE

The Ty Dolla $ign performance and South African Nasty C’s had them really excited. Then they jumped headlong into the drinking challenge which was being offered by the sponsors.

Probably, this was a good sign of generation involvement, only it pushed adults away from the event really fast, the kids were too many, too rowdy.

Jameson Connect, did connect except it brought a night funky away from teachers, school uniforms, school buses and school rules!

people go to concerts to connect with artists? Kwani ni LinkedIn?

Have fun, drink, dress how you want as long as you are above the legal age, judging tuachie Mungu
