Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai behaving badly.

I just watched a news clip of Narok County.
So the governor has ordered his water CS Samuel ole Kuiyani to refund residents who had paid to have their homes connected with water. In itself is an unheard-of move for a county govt refunding monies collected.
He said the county has both water and money to connect to homes of residents. The good governor even said “hiyo ni conning watu” concerning the people who had been asked to pay for the connection.
Either the governor is playing politics and knew all along that people were being charged these fees but after realising only few can afford to pay so now he throws his water CS under the bus by claiming he didn’t know and will cancel those fees.
The other explanation is he truly did not know. If he didn’t know then he is guilty of not really knowing what is going on in his county government.
If the governor didn’t know about these illegal fees then he should fire whoever authorised the charging of that fee.
Personally I think he is just playing politics and he knew about the fees from day 1.

Water should be free.

Arap Moi promised all kenyans free water by the year 2000,he said that in the early 90’s.

Water is a good topic to use to enter politics. Huku Mavoko Kuna shida ya maji. Maybe I can start kamukunjis to discuss water problems with an eye for MCA position of 2022

It is also said, he turned off the water taps for Nakuru residents so he could irrigate his farms and get richer, he also started keeping large quantities of chicken so that he could stifle the success of small farmers who were making a good leaving and constructing handsome red roof houses.

If making a good leaving and constructing handsome red roof houses is all it takes, then I want to leave like that!

piped water by 2000 in every homestead was the political nonsense by the late Paul Ngei in 70s .Still the same tune today !

Wapi Ile clip uilium akisema kila graduate atalipua btw 10 - 15 k kabla apate job.

ok, sorry, living, what are we to do when what we think is not always in agreement with how we type.

That disconnect between thought and fingers…

plus auto correcting keypads especially on phones

Respectfully, I disagree… We have a very bad habit of taking free things for granted and would most probably misuse said water. Additionally, it costs a fair bit to develop and maintain the pipelines and infrastructure , as well as treat the water. A large number of the water companies in Kenya are seriously hurting; tukisema wasipate malipo they will certainly fail.

Hata kama ni 5-bob watu walipe. Most people do not respect “free” things.
