NHIF

Villagers a little help here. So as said in a previous thread I got this job that isn’t that good but I decided I will quit after March. With how things are unraveling I can’t manage to go till April. I will do two months only. If you missed it, here’s the link to the story.

The following are the requirements for one to get paid; bank account, NSSF, KRA PIN AND NHIF. The first three (bank account, NSSF and KRA PIN) are in my possession since they were requirements for one to be employed for the IEBC clerk job I told you about. I don’t have NHIF and one must have it. I was told that one must pay the monthly rates if you get one failure to which you will attract penalties. Since am quitting at the end of March I don’t think I will continue paying for it. After all I won’t be employed any more.

What happens in a situation like that?

enda NHIF offices ukaulize…

Nothing will happen, you will just lose your cover. When you start paying again, there will be a 3 month period where you will be paying but not eligible for their service

Nhif muhimu boss.

You never know when you’ll get sick and your coffers are dry. Just pay even the minimum 500/-. NHIF will cover your arse in such like instances.

It will go along way.

It means ukiwa mgonjwa, itabidi umtafute ero!

Am covered through my Dad’s NHIF Insurance. Am 23 so I got like 2 years on it. At 25 that’s when the family support for me.

No, you’re not covered under your dad’s NHIF. See below why.

On the question of how to register, it’s upon your employer to provide you with the form, you fill it and they present it to NHIF. Simply inform HR that you’re not registered and they’ll give you the form.

What is so hard about paying sh 500 a month?

And some health insurance companies like AAR require that your NHIF payments be up to date especially if you they are psy for inpatient services.

Like @GERALD9949 said its only 500/- per month

When your hospital bills will scale to tens of thousands or even hundreds you’ll start fundraising while you’re healthy you don’t see its important. Ksh 500 may appear too much but with honesty its worth it. Pay on time and escape penalties.

Download form kutoka kwa website yao, jaza, attach everything as required, kimbia huduma centre na i think 3 months contribution, utoke na card yako in 5mins kama hakuna queue. NHIF is veeeeery important, very, very.

Last I checked there was a policy for the unemployed with lower rates

Then in an event you get sick, you will be forced to cough heavily from your pocket. In the name of saving 500 Bob a month. Fungua macho

I am still covered for the moment till I hit 25. Why don’t you guys understand simple English?

I doubt you are at age 25.Test that theory by going to a private hospital and see.

Huyo anaweka SJ na NHIF kwa ratili…
for him, SJ definitely wins!
