Mr Savani A owned a coffee farm consisting of 280 acres along Ruaraka/
Gatundu road.
The farm had a newly installed irrigation system and crops which were not yet ready for harvesting .
The location of the farm attracted the attention of president Kenyatta who approached Mr Savani with an offer of buying it.
President Kenyatta was well known to Mr Savani since he always stopped by his shop whenever he had time .
Mr Savani rejected the offer ,a decision the president agreed with but told him that he should let him know in case he was willing to sell the farm in future.
One month later Mama Ngina approached him and gave him an ultimatum to sell part of his farm to her.
According to a complaint lodged by Mr Savani to the Chief Valuer on 27 May 1976,Mama Ngina insisted on having the farm immediately and that he must accept Kshs 2 million for it.
Savani had no option but to part with his farm.He complained to the chief valuer that at least Mama Ngina should have allowed him to harvest his coffee
He also alleged that the 2 million he was promised was not paid in cash ,instead he was told “you will be paid pole pole.”
