Most Modern standup comedy is based on comedians owning and running the same jokes formatted differently for different audiences. Kwanza the big comedians, this is what they do all the time. From akina Chris Rock, Gina Yashere, Andi Osho and all the others. The Jokes make them a living and they have to ensure they own them, otherwise, another comedian will feed off them without acknowledging the source. As the audience, you should be paying for shows while fully aware of the current state of the industry, for which there is nothing you can do about.
