this thing was clarified kitambo. NTSA said its only for brand new cars, any any imported vehicles as of 1st July. All other cars are exempt from looking for this nonsense

So at least my peugeot 305 which has run through three generations is safe.I have no idea where the chassis number is (must have rusted off some 20 odd years ago) & the Logbook cant be traced anywhere.I suppose this new measure may add some unreasonable amount to the already overtaxed Importer.Lets just hope its not too high (BTW do you have any links to that info?)
