NTSA...

as received from whatsapp this morning…

NTSA are carrying random checks on vehicles for lifesavers, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Lack of these items in your car is a fine of 5k.

The number of people with first aid kit n fire extinguisher na hawajui kuzi tumia is appalling. Zime kuwa just another requirement to fullfil.

There should be mandatory first aid training and fire fighting, hii ni impunity…

That is just bored government officials having some fun. How do fire extingishers, some mabati, first aid kits prevent police from taking bribes from matatu people who are the killers on the road? vehicles rarely catch fire in accidents, and most people die speeding or simply paying little attention to what they are doing.

PRIVATE VEHICLES NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE FIRE EXTINGUISHER, FIRST AID KITS AND TOWING ROPES

It is wrong for any police officer to ask a private vehicle owner for a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and a towing rope. Traffic Commandant Samuel Kimaru says only PSV’s are required by law to have the items. He says you should report any officer who asks for the items to the number 020 260 3814.
