This is the largest single residential development in Kenya (though it was done in phases). Some call it a Soviet-style development, lakini the key point is that it was planned. Just look at the buildings around the estate (from the drone footage), they’re UUUUGLY. Instead of every ghaseer just going to Juja to buy their land and building whatever nonsense they feel like, why can’t the government not only create the necessary infrastructure, but also dictate the kinds of development one can put up, down to the architectural design and colour of your house?
