The Okoa Kenya movement referendum drive has hit the 1.4 million signature mark.
According to a statement by the movement’s secretariat it is targeting to collect five million signatures despite the fact that the law requires only one million signatures.The exercise according to the statement is expected to move to Coast, Eastern, and Central and North Eastern regions this week where the delegations will be issued with 2,000 books.The Okoa Kenya Secretariat is urging Kenyans from all walks of life to put their signatures in the books at designated areas in their regions to enable it reach the five million plus mark.The technical committee headed by Paul Mwangi is in the process of drafting a Bill which together with the batch of signatures will be handed over to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for review.
