Things not all rosy for Dennis Oliech as reports reaching Goal indicate that the former Nantes and Auxerre man is ‘losing it’
Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech is not having a good life several months after he failed to secure a contract extension with a top club in France.
A source close to the former star has indicated that the player is running out of finances with each passing day. Oliech ‘the menace’ is famous for his cracker against Cape Verde in 2003 which sent Kenya to a fourth appearance in African Cup of Nations final held in Tunisia.
However, a source close to the player has revealed that the onetime hot shot could quit playing considering his current status. "Our brother Dennis (Oliech) needs urgent help, things are not good at all. He is far from the Oliech we knew, he is slowly losing it and may quit playing for good.
"If you go to Dagoretti (Corner), you will find him sitted with ‘his boys’ discussing nothing. His business he put up while playing away in France has already been closed down and things are not looking good.”
Efforts by Goal to reach Oliech or his manager were fruitless as both phones went answered. Oliech, who replaced defender Musa Otieno as Kenyan captain, put up a shambolic display in his last stint for the country against Zambia in a Cup of Nations qualifier.
I saw a news feature on a former Kogalo captain (can’t remember the guy’s name) whose “contract” was terminated a while back, didn’t have a plan B and was forced to be a chokosh literally collecting plastic bottles to survive. Nigga was weeping on national tv (the kind of weeping @Nefertities hates). Didn’t like what I saw but you reap what you sow. That guy was like a hero for over 10 productive years and did nothing to secure his future. F him. Aende aambie mamake ampikie samaki. Ama askie ngoma za fishborne entertainment
SWS or sudden wealth syndrome. Same thing happens to many top flight athletes, entertainers and jackpot winners. You’re only 20 years old and making millions each week the wealth seems like it will last forever. Most of us here would end up the same way. Ask the guy that won sportpesa last month where that money has gone and he won’t have any idea. Clubs should have a policy of putting a portion of their player’s salaries away that they can only access when their careers are finished.
this is the barest and simplest truth of his life! It sounds like it should be insignificant but those stupid Kanye skirts prolly ate up like 60% of his earnings! :D:D:D:D
Sadness of … He is going back to his spot at Jobless corner where he will be pondering where his millions went together with guys wondering how it feels to have 500k in the account
Oliech is likely not broke. Hiyo website iko na porojo mingi.
Ati because Oliech sits around discussing with vijana mitaani he is a failure?
Ati because one of his business has failed means he is broke?
