Optical Lense grinders in Nairobi ?

I have realized that buy spectacles in Nairobi is a ripoff.

If I Import my own Frames from eBay. Amazon or wherever, armed with my prescription, where can I find the guys who actually make the directly glasses to fit on the frames.

I realized that most optical shops In Nairobi are just brokers who outsource the Lense making.

I bought low quality frames at a shop in Nairobi for 7 k while my buddy bought great frames online for 2 k.

L

Juzi nimepeleka dem flani optica akauziwa frames 10k kwanza za plastic
Na saa hizo bado lens

Mine are the Lowest quality plastic. The 7 k was just for the frames. They are 2 months old and already warping and peeling like a python.

Ecdysis.

Following… Got 100 usd frames that have served me for the last 3years… Those opticians along commercial were charging 4k prescription plus lense…

My 7k frames ain’t even 2 months old, but hata jina ilifutika kitambo

Mine were 17K frames pale Vijay Optica Mombasa… The salty air ya Mombasa did the in. Screws zikakatika. Right now using some 5K lense plus frame combo from some shop along Moi Avenue.

@Inthanite about your grinders,I know one in Mombasa. Sijui kama that helps

Cant relate

That can still be an option if I can’t get one in Nairobi. I can buy the frames online and send the with prescription to someone in Mombasa to have them done.

Weka contacts.

I tried getting the info from a Lady who works kwa duka ya optical ya Muhindi in town and she told me the boss himself takes the glasses to the grinder somewhere in Parklands or Westlands.

He has never reveled where.

Following keenly. Tumechezwa muda mrefu.
