Paksat 1R

Here lies my only hope of watching live EPL FTA this season since Irib decided to move away from our beloved Arabsat 20c and Idman went scrambled. I have decided to point my 240cm pf dish to this position for reason above but i am having rough time bringing down this bird ( mostly because i dont have a meter at the moment). If any of you Asas got a setup for this bird kindly share information on how to bring down this bird to my dinner table served on my SRT4922. Mbicha will do more good. VIVA FTA

Which lnb are you using

The primary LNB there is PakSat, somewhere in the neighborhood of Naivasha.

So the LNB does matter depending on whether one is hunting for Ku Band or C band?

Careful right there! Extra strong winds and you will either be shopping for a new dish or we will be cashing your life insurance.

is that dish 180cm?

Yes it is.

Yes it does. One cannot use C-banb LNB for instance to receive Ku-band signals.

Hehehe…not a chance. Umeona jiwe fulani hapo?

Ku Cband are all signals/microwaves from space and yu need the right lnb to recieve what yu want.
cband is very strong and does not get affected by cloud cover or rain

Congrats. Look at the pic I put up, again. Do you see the Ku-band LNB to the left? That’s for Amos-5. My point? You don’t need to have it on a separate dish. Tumia hiyo 130cm for another sat, like 7W.

Will get an arm and try that. Then maybe i can point my 130 to IS20…

You’ll need a conical scalar ring (not the flat type as in that pic) as well as modify the LNB holder to successfully do that.

Mmmmmhh…do i have to use that? Am copying from Freddygaz setup using normal c-band scalar ring, though the best he got on that sat ni hizo HBO, sony zilikataa kudownload kwa 130
