Parliamentary vs Presidential.

Why are most of the countries with parliamentary system of goverment stable? Just look at Europe, most of the countries there have a parliamentary system of government and they seem so much stable when compared to the presidential system of govts such as in Africa, USA, Brazil and others.

Which Parliamentary Systems are stable in Africa?

In Israel there have been 3 inconclusive elections for over a year. No party has been able to form Govt. Would that work in Kenya.

In the aforementioned countries we have very strong parties. In Kenya we have personality cults and criminal outfits masquerading as parties.

Zuma and Mbeki we’re recalled by the ANC. South Africa continued. In Kenya we have parties that claim party Leader is never wrong. Some can only hold Parliamentary group meeting in party leader house even if party leader is not an MP. Can Jubilee recall Uhunye or ODM recall Tinga.

In Europe we have parties that have a long-standing existence with party offices in all areas.in Kenya most party branches become tyre repair shops, bars and mandazi kiosks in between elections.

Wacheni mchezo Nani.

Parliamentary considering our current head of state has become a tyrant.

i will vote for parliamentary system but i doubt it’s at a risk of being hijacked by a few people who will run kenya like a mafia …thats what i am afraid of !

How has kamwana become a tyrant?

Parliamentary system will work if the electorate are given mandate to recall leaders at will. Mp kazi Yao ikuwe oversight, legislation na representative. Pesa wanyang’anywe. If MP loses his seat, the PM loses the simple majority.

He eliminated the opposition through the handshake, he has been against his deputy’s ambition, he has instituted a unconstitutional curfew and now his rogue officers are mistreating citizens.

and now his rogue officers are mistreating citizens.

You have just realized this?

We would need stronger parties based on policy rather than personality for a Parliamentary system.

Did you vote for him?

Police were doing fine before the curfew, I used to meet them at 1AM and experience no harassment
