Paul Revere and his midnight cry

It was April 18th 1775 in Boston Massachusetts when Paul Revere, a messenger with the American troops got wind that the British army had surrounded the Americans and was about to attack in the wee hours of the morning. As quickly as he could, he got on his horse and set out at midnight to alert the Americans on the upcoming danger. Because of his quick and heroic actions, the Americans were alert and prepared for battle, which they won.

We have a Paul Revere in our day, and his midnight cry to us is that not only are we surrounded, but the enemy (Satan) has won. Satan has command of this earth. The earth is now Satan’s Eden. The earth became his territory after being cast down from heaven for his pride and rebellion.

Revelation 12:9

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

So after the devil was cast to the earth, God decided to make man in His own image and place him on this same earth, so that man could usurp Satan’s authority. That’s why Satan is so anti humans, especially the children of God, it’s because we are here to get what he had (without the same pride and rebellion). Remember that before the fall, Satan was second in command after God. But we are now second in command and he’s not happy about that.

I hope you can begin to appreciate what this great battle between God and Lucifer is about. Thereafter realize that to survive on this earth one must be fully vested and hidden in Christ to fight the enemy.

Ephesians 6:11-20

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

what does this part of the message mean?
