So due to a conversation we were having on another thread about Kodi i have decided to put a thread here on everything about Plex streaming, what it is all about and how to set it up for those interested in it. Iknow its not for everyone, some people prefer downloading 800mb movie waone na wafute, but this is for people who like storing content for kids ama for your own entertainment.
Nimechukua information from different places to make sure you get all the info you require. If there are experts here any added information i have left out or you feel is incorrect please feel free to add to it will be highly appreciated tuko hapa kusaidiana.
I have considered all the people from the ones who are good with reading a step by step Guide na wale wanataka videos i have got you covered too.
SO what is Plex?
In simplest terms,
Plex is place to find and access all the media that matters to you. From personal media on your own server.
Biggest benefit is control over your media…u can store your favourite collection of movies and tv shows na uwatch anywhere even when you are not at home…u can give friends and family access like the way people share Netflix accounts. The Software Interface is way better than Netflix and more features.
You can set up Plex on an old computer ama on a pc if you have one at home, you can also use NAS if you are willing to go all the way pia.
You can set up you can setup Sonarr and Raddar to download content automatically so kama ni series zitakua zina download and updating when new episodes are available. But this is a whole different topic.
This is even more helpful for people with kids…you can create an account and put all the content your kids will ever require na usahau mambo ya kulipa DSTV ama ZUKU for cartoon channels.
VIDEO LINKS, YOU CAN WATCH EITHER OR ALL OF THEM IF YOU WANT TO GET DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES:

Here are a couple of screenshots of my own Plex account,
I also use Emby, which is very similar to Plex its just another option if you don’t like Plex user interface.
Like I said before this server works like Netflix…you can give access to people even if they are not near you na wanaweza stream, so for my case i have access to a server,The owner is in Canada. I use his server to stream and to help me organise mine too
I could not resist the urge to share a screenshot :D:D. All are either Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA (those with over 40Mbps bitrate have multiple audio streams, you can switch between DTS na Dolby). Man, if you have never listened to lossless audio in movies you need to upgrade your gear. Kwanza label ya Warner Bros ikianguka at the beginning of Mad Max… Majirani wanajuanga movie imeanza :D:eek: If you think you’ve heard good bass, double it :D.
I’ll share it soon bro… for personal reasons I hope you understand. However, system ni Q-Acoustics 3050i package, PB-1000 sub, na an old Marantz receiver.
TCL C715 55". I got it last year. I wanted to buy X9000H/X900H but I realized it doesn’t support AV1 decoder. I didn’t want to invest too much in a TV without a critical feature that I personally value. X90J imetoka with AV1 but reviews show it has the same awesome picture quality as last year’s X9000H, but a bit costly. So next year nitajua if I’ll get X90J bei ikishuka or X95J.
