Police in Naivasha have intensified patrols on the Naivasha-Nairobi highway after a number of motorists were attacked in the area recently.
One of the victims took to the social media, cautioning fellow motorists against stopping at Kinungi area even after being pelted with stones.
He warned that the attackers along the busy highway usually use the decoy to stop and rob unsuspecting motorists, with traffic flow having increased due to Christmas festivities.

The post went viral, prompting police in Naivasha to launch a manhunt for the suspects in the past few days.
“We are on top of things and assuring motorists of their safety. We have deployed enough officers to patrol the route,” said the Naivasha Director of Criminal Investigations boss, Adan Mohamed.

He said they suspect the gang is a remnant of a criminal outfit that has been terrorising motorists along the highway.

In March, police arrested a suspect linked to several robbery incidents within Naivasha town and its environs.
The thug commonly known as a ‘one man guitar’ is believed to have been behind a daring robbery along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway on January 28, 2020.
A motorist had stopped to change a flat tyre when he was attacked by the panga-wielding attacker.
The motorist lost Sh30,000 and a mobile phone. A female occupant in the car was raped and robbed of Sh9,000.
Mr Hassan asked motorists using the highway at night to report any suspicious person spotted at Ihindu and Kinungi areas.
