Not really, kuna the provisional results that POs will send electronically the moment they finish counting at the stations. So hata kama RO ana nia mbaya, results zitakuwa zimeshaenda by the time POs come to him with hard copy results.

The ruling was a big win for NASA. With operation Linda Kura in place, it will be difficult to tamper with the results at the polling stations, now there is no possibility of inflating figures at the IEBC national tallying centre while purporting to verify and confirm figures, one loophole that could have made rigging easy closed.

It has been the practise yes. But IEBC changes the vote tally now they cannot
In 2007, when I was young and honestly ambitious, I worked as an agent for a certain contestant in my constituency. Being an agent meant you literally hover around like hawk watching for any slight misconduct during voting. We were a number of us. The polling station closed at 5pm but everyone had voted. Actually no one was coming by 4:30pm. Ballot boxes were opened and votes counted in the most transparent manner. It was kibaki’s stronghold. Total votes were like 2k or 3k. By 8pm we were done and a form A16…or something… was filled and signed by the returning officer who took it to the constituency headquarters. By 12 midnight, we knew who the winner of parliamentary seat was. However, 1 week later, the results were still streaming in…he he he! If we have 37,000 polling stations, NIS can plant an officer in each station meaning that the covert body is capable of tallying the results within a few hours after 5pm and know who is the real presidential winner! Of course there are some instances where voters misbehave during voting or even votes stashing into ballot boxes but the NIS guys will still get to know and report.
