Private investigator Jane Mugo attacked, injured in Eldoret

private investigator Jane Mugo was admitted in hospital after she sustained a fracture on the hand and head injuries in a carjacking incident at Burnt Forest area, Uasin Gishu county, on Thursday night.

Her two aides were also injured and are admitted in hospital.

Mugo, who is admitted at Reale Hospital in Eldoret told police her car was blocked by gunmen driving in two vehicles, both Subarus.

She claimed the attack could be linked to a murder case she was investigating. Mugo said she had been operating between Busia and Bungoma for the last four days and was driving back to Nairobi when the incident occurred.

Mugo said she was being driven from Bungoma by her driver Kevin Okoth and accompanied by Newton Manyana and on reaching Ainabkoi- Kapsabet junction near Ainabkoi State forest, they were blocked by a black vehicle.

Two of the occupants took control of Mugo’s car after removing her from the car and drove away with her driver and bodyguard.

Mugo was then attacked and sustained a deep cut on her head and both hands before being dumped a few metres away.

She was later assisted by members of public who took her to Kondoo police station before being taken to Burnt Forest Subcounty Hospital.

“The victim cannot exactly comprehend the incident since she is exhibiting signs of being in pain though appearing stable,” police said.

Mugo’s aides later made a report at the station that they were carjacked by six men armed with AK-47 rifles who fired two shots- one in the air and one bullet hitting their vehicle.

They were all blind folded while being beaten with sticks. Okoth sustained a fracture on the right leg below the knee while Newton Mkoyanzi sustained injuries on his body.

They were then bungled into one of the three vehicles and driven to an unknown destination.

Along the way, they claimed, they were forced to drink an unknown substance and were at around 8pm dumped at Narasha forest within Tinet area in Koibatek, Baringo county before they were driven to Torongo Health centre for treatment.

The nurse on duty called police officers from Torongo police post. The two were later taken to Eldama Ravine Subcounty Hospital where they are admitted in fair condition.

The vehicle they were driving in together with her crew, a Toyota Prado was on Friday morning recovered in Mumias.

I will not comment before I get full details. Mtu mwenye aliact vituko kwa BBC anaweza act izi pia

She’s good actor.

As a private investigator, she should be driving a faster-easier to maneuver car not some old unstable Prado that easily gets hammered by 4-speed auto Subarus. Ama alipie ticket ya ndege.

Hii ni warning … next time tunamaliza yeye kabisa. Awache ujinga ya kusumbua wanaume.

I think we all know what Subarus+AK47s mean. Speed and maneuverability had nothing to do with it.

Most likely she was overtaken alafu akafungiwa barabara na AK zikatolewa kwa window. You can’t tell me that the Subaru guys were just hanging out on that busy road the whole evening waiting for her.

Speed is a weapon. No one in their right mind would try to block a car moving at 150kph unless he/she risks being crashed to death.

She she knows that she is doing a sensitive job, why not take simple measures to protect herself when traveling by road?
1.Invest in a fast and stable car - speed is a weapon
2.Invest in bullet-proofing the car - Of course to avoid panicking coz of AKs
3.Invest in run-flat tyres - so that the vehicle can keep moving even in the event of a puncture

Last two points…how sure are you her car doesn’t meet the last two conditions
4th…invest in a proper driver and bodyguard

The way she easily got nabbed speaks volumes about her disaster preparedness and situational awareness.

Boss…kuna vitu zingine huwezi kuwa prepared for…sazingine tuwachangeh chocha mob.
Sasa kama gsu special forces wanajeshi huwa ambushed…what about a mere p.i? Is she even a p.i for real?
Boss usiongeh kitu hujaexprience.

This lady is a clown not a serious professional. She does what is called live action roleplay. Living out her fantasy in real life. If you watched the BBC documentary you would see that. Rumour has it she is the girlfriend of a senior officer so she probably thinks she is untouchable. Someone obviously wanted her to know that she can be touched. That is assuming this entire story is not fabricated.

Sunday, 28 November 2021 – Controversial private detective, Jane Mugo, is currently admitted at a hospital in Eldoret after she was abducted by unknown people along a busy highway and dumped near a forest.

Recounting the harrowing experience, Jane said the attack is linked to a murder case that she has been hired to investigate.

In the course of her investigations, she discovered that a police officer was involved in the murder.

She suspects that the rogue cop might have planned the abduction to intimidate her.

I have been following up a particular case, two weeks ago, I was in Busia and we arrested some suspects of murder with DCI officers. During our investigations, we realized that a police officer was also involved in the murder case,” she said.

Narrating the horrifying incident, Jane said a Subaru car trailed her along Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

She was in the company of her driver and another colleague.

Four armed men alighted from the Subaru and abducted her as her driver and the other occupant watched helplessly.

They then bundled her into the Subaru and sped off.

Inside the Subaru, they started beating her with a rungu and broke her arms and two fingers, before dumping her near a forest.

She limped to the main road and a Good Samaritan took her to the hospital.

Her vehicle was recovered in Mumias while her driver and the other occupant were found dumped in Baringo county.
