Raila tells issac ruto to honour his daughter by pushing for refurendum

Former Prime Minister Raila
Odinga on Monday visited Bomet
Governor Isaac Ruto at his home
to mourn with the family
following the untimely death of
his daughter, Emily Chepng’etich
Ruto, who passed on last Friday
after a long battle with blood
cancer, popularly known as
leukemia.
In his condolence to the family
and Ruto, who is also the
architect of the Pesa Mashinani
referendum, Raila urged them to
take heart at this trying moment
because God has not forgotten
them.
“Losing a young, talented and
promising daughter can be very
deflating. It can cause a feeling of
the future coming to an end and
life losing purpose. I encourage
you to be firm and courageous in
the midst of all these,” said Raila.
Furthermore, the CORD leader
challenged the Bomet Governor
not to let the death of his
daughter deviate him from the
just course he’s fighting for to
ensure devolution works for
Kenya, saying the best Ruto can
do the sake of his deceased
daughter is to push for Pesa
Mashinani for Counties to be able
to build and equip hospitals to be
able to treat dreaded diseases
like leukemia which Emily
succumbed to.
“God has a reason and plan for
all His actions. Let Emily’s death
inspire you and your family to
seek the best for Kenya in terms
of making critical social services
available and closer to the people
across the country. That is the
best we can do for Emily now.
My family and I stand with you at
this trying moment,” he said.
