Range Rover Runs Over Owner After Mistakingly Engaging Reverse On New Electronic Gear Selector Knob

A Los Angeles mother was killed by her Range Rover when it unexpectedly rolled backwards and crushed her, new video shows.

The graphic footage, obtained Monday by CBS News, shows 41-year-old mother of two Shadi Farhat getting out of her 2017 Range Rover when the SUV starts to roll backwards, dragging her beneath the vehicle.

Farhat managed to get back on her feet after being run over, but immediately collapsed to the ground on Oct. 1, 2018, before dying days later. Her husband is now suing Jaguar Land Rover for a “defective gear selector” in its Range Rover, which employs a dial rather than a standard gearshift, CBS News reported.
