I will give you some advice that you will not like. The best way to get solid advice is to pay for it, from someone who has the experience in a similar firm. Some of the best decisions I have ever made are those I paid total strangers for advice and they gave me genuine advice. Approach an employee (not an owner) who is above 35 years old. Most guys above this age are straightforward and genuine with information. Pay him like 5k, and order him a few drinks as he explains the whole process. If he is a senior employee, the better.

I am going to tell you something you will not want to hear. Avoid mambo ya familia. This is not going to end well, either you or them, someone is gonna screw the other. Words and promises aare sweet but story na pesa in families nimekataa esp in Kenyan families. I am speaking from experience, my mom is a landlord and mambo ya relatives amekataa.
When you say they have all given you the go ahead, who is ‘they’? The owner and wife plus kids or who? The day you upgrade and your business improve utaona moto.
Summary: wachana na mambo ya relatives.

Hapo kwa look for someone doing the same thing and get advice naitikia pia. But the way you asked the question you sound like the wrong family member for the job…Si kwa ubaya.
