Times have changed, some the of the things guys like Ruto used to do during the 80`s and 90`s can`t be done so openly today. But some of these guys still wanajidanganya they are demi gods.

Ruto with his powerful position in the Rift Valley was taken to court and still lost a 100 acre plot of land he had grabbed from an IDP during the last post election violence. Such cases can easily lead to his downfall especially if the victims of his crimes is a member of a community he expects to get votes from in 2022.

For example if he is suspected of the murder of another luhya like Jacob Juma close to the elections he will loose the luhya votes and that may cost him the presidency.
