So a friend of mine has a valid DL and has been driving for almost an year but mostly on weekends and it is from home to work and back since during week days there is usually heavy traffic and that freaks her out. Her main problem is at the roundabouts.

I have reccommended a refresher at Heltz driving school in town where they charge 1k per hour. Is it worth it ama aendelee kujikaza kivyake?

Throw her in the deep end, let her battle it out with diaspora matatus. A refresher course will still revolve around basics and road rules, but what she lacks seems to be the confidence to battle the NRB madness
Problem is that she doesnt want to damage the car. Anaogopa kugongwa kwa roundabout

hatagogwa , just drive her to town one day then manufacture an errand and leave her there, if she gets her self back home, she is good to go. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

if she is completely unable to drive herself back and has to source for an alternate driver, sell off the car :D:D:D:D

And which lane to take based on which exit one wants to take can be very confusing

no need of refresher, just tell her to be going to work abit early when there's less traffic, slowly she'll build her confidence, and to lock her doors ,drive with her pace .You can as well accompany her to boost her confidence. There are some fellows(experienced drivers) who do that for a living, charges ranges from 800 bob to 1k an hour.
but if she has been driving for a whole year ,she needs psychological help, that's too serious, a month is enough to build confidence even during weekends alone.

She lacks confidence, let her go with the flow at her own pace like @ranny has said and a year from now she will be the one harassing newbies on the road.

The rule is that the driver on ur right has the right of way..And whoever gets into the roundabout first has the right of way......but not in Nairobi...ukijaribu kufuata io sheria utaachiwa bumper na hizi boats za forward travellers.
Most motorists huachia matatu zipite tu ata kama ni right yao kumove first.
