Repairing an "Ovulating" Rim

Let’s say someone was cruising at 140 along Mombasa Road at 11:00 pm, akainga Southern Bypass na kupanda Likoni Road akienda mahali anaenda. Just before Winners Chapel, akapatana na a crater dead centre in his lane, akaona badala ya kuswerve na kuingia kwa ditch, akule hio pothole mzima mzima kama mwanaume na kubendisha rim kiasi in the process.

Swali ni, kuna venye it can be made 100% circular again na machine? Where can it be done? Ama itabidi replacement?

Ningesema take your mind off the gutter but not swerving into the gutter = kukula pothole.

99.8? At least iwe spare?

did it deflate?

Ironically no, rim became slightly oval. Noticed when driving fast, a slight vibration…confirmed when going to do wheen balancing…

Alloy…

Bend ni kidogo sana, like 3 - 5 mm. Will check out if its necessary to replace. Kingsway wanadai wanaweza irudisha na machine…

Wueeh.
Lakini watu waache hizi rims za Taiwan. Nimewahi kuona moja ikipasuka without considerable impact.
Stuck to your steels if you can’t get genuine alloys.

How do you know genuine alloys?

And why should anyone for whatever reason be doing 140 on Likoni rd?
You are the ferkers who kill other motorists and pedestrians.

Pole bro I know that pothole very well is it the on at the dip? I always keep right on the section.

Very much so! One can’t see it before it’s too late.

I obey traffic rules, I indicate before turning, I maintain max speed limit, I watch out for other road users, I have not and will not hit anything other than a pothole…

If you have issue with speed, I suggest you petition the government to put speed limiters of 60 kmph on all cars, bycicles, shoes, mkokoteni, and whichever vehicle you fancy.

Speed is good, it gets you to places faster and it makes you more productive. Speed is not necessarily reckless driving.

Matatus have killed at 50kmph. I see no reason I should not go to a place faster if I am not endangering myself or other road users.

You damaged your rim.
Stop trying to justify recklessness.
Now get out of here and go buy yourself another rim.
And always remember ‘it could have been worse’.

Bypass was designed for speed babah… repaired the rim and I will drive at the highest speed possible whenever I want to.

a good query that went unanswered
