Resolution - Medical Checkup

The last time I did full checkup was 2015 and promised myself to be doing some tests at least once in a year. Sasa, I have avoided this for long. However, I have never felt sick in the past five years - shukrani kwa Mwenyezi Mungu.

This year, nilisema lazima nitembee hospitalini kwa uchunguzi halisi. I decided to wrap this resolution in January. As such, I called a doctor friend who referred me to a wellness clinic in one of the hospitals. Epoch ndio huyo na partner wake hadi kituo cha wellness - this was last week Thursday. We did several tests including cardio exam, physical exam, blood tests, cancer screening, radiowhatever etc. Halafu dakitari akasema ati nifanyiwe full body CT scan, because of why?..Hii test ilifanya nifikirie naenda nyumbani kwa baba. There is a liquid they injected through my arm, yaani nilisikia kitu warm ikitembea kwa mwili wote. That feeling you used to feel when wetting your bed or better still - for dryfry male - the moment of expelling hot cream through your urethra.

Once done with the tests, dakitari akatuangalia na sagging glasses, ati “what about STD/HIV screening?” My woman was like “Sawa”. Mimi baridi iliniingia kwa kisigino na kutokea kwa sikio ya left, and the way it is a hot period. I knew my decision making skills was to come to play. Nikaambia mhudumu, “Please doctor, let’s do it on Monday as we try to analyse the results we have so far”. Wakakubali…that was the longest weekend of my life.

Hiyo weekend, my partner alikuwa akinikumbusha vile Monday kuna doctor’s appointment. Hata ball ya Arsenal & ManUtd sikuenjoy. I had to recall all the ladies I encountered in the last 5 years, checking their profiles, whether they are doing fine. I studied HIV/AIDS over the weekend, ingekuwa kuna exam ya HIV/AIDS ningepita na 99%.

All in all, Monday came, we did the tests. Kauogopa kama kawaida. That was that, it is time to move on and strive to achieve other goals in 2019 while taking ownership of our health.

Talkers, any experiences on Medical tests? What drives you to visit a healthcare center?

Let’s check and maintain our wellbeing.

Last Sunday, i bought that testing kit and psyched myself up. I pricked my finger and placed a drop of blood on that strip, and a drop of the other fluid that comes with the kit. Hoyeeeee…HIV NEGATIVE. To confirm my fears, i bought the other kit for testing orally, the one that uses saliva. HIV negative!!!
Am still thanking God!!

Hehe, spooky. Had the exact tests done last Friday including the CT scan(Felt that warmth during the injection halafu kufreeze while in the machine. Only difference is that I was alone and didn’t postpone the p24 test. Of course iko kuingiza baridi but after results you feel like it’s a new lease of life

Kweli kabisa

Package ya peasant ni ngapi hizo tessts

Muhimu sana wanaume tufanye hizi wellness tests. Enzi za kufa kama inzi zimepita. Certain cancers when detected early can be treated effectively. I routinely do mine yearly

@epoch lakini wewe ujipendi. How do you postpone a HIV test to Monday. That is imposing stress to yourself. Hapo sasa first lady atafikiria 1000 times more about your movements and you will also be thinking the same. Anyway muache dry fry my friends. I get mine annually due to medical cover. The annual appointment we all hate but is necessary.

Exactly, hio kupostpone mbele ya bibi ni balaa

Halafu nugu ingine ikaniambia nipunguze WD40.
:D:D
Ng’ombe saidi.

Kuna wenzangu hapo juu najua mmegonga 40, mbona ile test nyeti hamuongelei

20k hivi, but if you can get a good insurance…they pay for checkups every year.

I had told her HIV we can do later. Nikuelewana…infact idea was mine.
Dry fry nje sirudii tena

All the best, though the shock effect wears off with time… By April utakua ukiona kitu swaffi, the small head inachukua control
